Transiting the Great Sandy Straits is a great experience and they are a fabulous criusing grounds.

The chart by McFarlane that I have is no longer in print and is a virtual collector's item. If you have one, guard it well.

All is not lost though.

The AUS chart is not really suitable for navigating the straits but Transport Queensland publish a very good chart that will cost you $18.

There is also the Beacon to Beacon hand book which is excellent but I believe it has gone out of print too. If you have one guard it well too.

Beacon to Beacon is still listed on MSQ website for $20.70, so still available currently. There was talk of it being discontinued about 12 or 18 months ago.

Yes I have recently purchased the Beacon to Beacon and the price does say $20.70 but dept of Transport don't have any so I bought one from BCF for $39.95 and yes that was the cheapest I could find one. Very good maps and covers from Gladstone to Tweed.

I noticed the B to B in BCF this week also. [ in NSW]

It was edition 9, the one I brought in 2011 was the 8th for $38
