Hi, I also am having the same problem with that website. Thought it was me!! Maybe I'd forgotten to log off or something. Need my "fix" of boat talk and can't get it!!!!
Nah wouldn,t be you WW. You can actually talk sailing here. Lots of intelligent people around...............................................sometimes ![]()
Well someone give the head honchos a nudge!!!! Tell 'em we'll mutiny and jump ship to seabreeze. Like we've got any choice at the moment. ![]()
Oh well... keep scrubbing the decks, fixing them sails, and do a jig to the hornpipe while we wait for tsplace to come back online.... sighh....
well... seeing as I am here.....
I've just bought a ts and the halyards need replacing. The spinnaker halyard runs inside the mast. I was thinking of replacing this myself to save some money. Is this a tricky thing to do? I was thinking of attaching the new halyard to the old and pulling the line through the mast that way. I'm just new to boat ownership and never done this myself. Always had the privilege of going out on someone else's boat... now the bills stop with me!![]()
Also, can I just use line bought from a hardware store, or does it need to be a "marine quality" or something similar?
Thanks.
You hit it on the head WW , all my halyards are in mast. When I replaced them I stitched the new halyard to the old and pulled through, easy as. As for what to use, head down to Whitworths or Bias marine and have a chat.I used 6mil I think it was and does the job comfortably. Let us know how you go.
