Just read about a young fella falling off a yacht off Gladstone. Apparently his grandparents boat and they didn't
realise he was gone. He trod water for 2 hours before being spotted by another boat. Now that's determination plus a whole lot of luck. Poor kid, it must have been his worst nightmare and greatest relief all in one package.

A few years ago a couple of uncles of mine went bush up in far north Queensland with their kids (wives didn't go) and stopped at Chillagoe for lunch and went to the pub for a drink while the kids played in the park

Came out of the park , jumped in the Landcruiser and took off up the road heading west

Got about half an hour up the road and realised that they had forgotten about the kids so turned around and went back to town and the kids were still playing in the park

kids didn't mind but the wives were not too impressed when the found out what happened

Regards Don

No talk in the article (MSN news) about them turning back or how they were eventually reunited.
I wonder why he wasn't harnessed on ?.

And I am sure the fellas all conspired to keep to a secret but the kids couldn't wait to blab.

When I passed through Cairns about a month ago, a lady fell overboard. It too about an hour and a half to find her. I think it was a charter boat that picked her up in the end and the Pan call went out straight away.

I would say this young kid of Glady had a lot of luck on his side.

They were live on Tv this morning , said they thought he was underneath sleeping , and didn't realise he was missing till they returned to marina , headed straight back out to look for him but was thankfully found while tracking back.
