Hi Guys,

I took my wind vane off to refurb it and stupidly tripped over breaking it. I was wondering if anyone has or would know anyone who has an old VDO wind vane lying around they would be interested in selling? Unfortunately they don't make them anymore so i'm up for new instruments if I can't find one.

G'day Mat, I can't see what part is broken , but wanted to tell you that when the birds destroyed my vane, I made a new vane out of a flattened beer can . Cheers, Bob

Cheers Bob, This was the vane before I broke it. Sounds like the perfect solution, one positive would have to include never being short of spare material to make a new one !

Sure thing Mat , I was berthed in Manly for a long spell and the Cormorants preferred my mast! By the way , the VDO wind gear , on my old Crowther, lasted more than 20 years, including an RTW and about 60,000m. Still going when I sold it 4 years ago.
