Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with a Volvo MS2V V drive gear box?
Just tried to move my boat from marina only to discover that once the engine is running I can engage forward but then not shift back to Neutral or into reverse! The same happens in reverse. The engine & gear box havent run for about 3 months so I thought something may have seized up. Oil looks great, cables & linkage on side of box work fine too. I can actually select gears without a problem when the engine is not running.

You could have the gear box oil analyzed to see if there is any contamination from internal parts
cant fine much info on the net or problems I guess you used the same oil grade as in the engine?
oil capacity 1.8 ltrs
Thanks HG, I couldn't find too much on the net either, hope that means it's a pretty trouble free box. I'll look into oil sampling. Cheers
