Yes I have been on a 37fter for 5 years I would like 40 to 45 fter I like the Ron holland 42! or maybe a hunter 45!
Looking out at the beautiful big boats in the marina from my humble 25 footer makes me often want to work harder on land and move up. I often dream about owning a big boat. More respect, hotter women, faster cruising, more space.
Downside, more expense, more problems, need crew.
I enjoy the simplicity of showing up at the marina alone, setting off in under a minute and easily sailing single handed.
In the end, i think i am content with 25ft and seriously considering taking her off the market.

YOU CAN'T GET A 45 FOOTER! YOU'LL NEVER GET TO FIJI!
YOU NEED TO STICK WITH WHAT YOU CAN HANDLE MAN!
GET A FLAT AND PADDLE OUT INTO THE OCEAN WITH A DINGY
JUST STICK WITH WHAT YOU CAN DO MAN
TRUST ME THERE'S LOTS OF PEOPLE AROUND HERE WITH EXPERIENCE
YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO US!
I would probably like a bigger boat but I don't really want one. I have had a bigger boat before but a 34 footer I find is ideal for me as I can handle it on my own when necessary.
Thought about it. Too expensive to buy and maintain. 34 ft doesn't need a crew but is big enough to take one. I'll stay with what I've got.
I'd like a 28-32 foot sloop on a mooring out the front of the relos house. Just something a bit more homely inside.
27ft just a tad small for a family of 5.
Always wanted a BIG boat, but reality of expense, maintenance etc has finally sunk in. So when I finally get the bloody house paid off, and can go cruising...maybe then.
For now, just coastal sailing, a nice cav32, or a mottle 33 would fit the bill just nicely.
3 kids in private school (and piano lessons, drama, swimming squad, tennis, etc etc etc). Makes it a little bit hard,
I would be happy with a similar size boat to the current one (32ft), what I lust after is a more modern, newer, dryer, faster version with a few of the more modern bells and whistles.
I would go bigger but probably no more than 34-36ft. As others have already observed, bigger = more $, and the need for more crew.
Happy with 33'. Jealous of my neighbours 42' stinkboat-Sea Commander, stacks of room inc big screen TV lol
no, 30' is big enough thanks.
Anyway, don't go longer, just add more hulls.
Mmmmmmmm 30-33 ft multi hull, room to party.........it HAS crossed my mind.....there are so many things right with them. No heeling, heaps of room, TWO motors AND sails........big icebox, more beer, and plenty of room for a nice big BBQ.......I could come over to the dark side![]()
Was dreaming about my dream boat ( as you do , it is a dream boat after all) and suddenly realised that if I got it what would I dream about while I was chilling in the cockpit?
Could be a bit of a let down?
Stuff it that's a bridge I can cross when I get there ![]()
