Its been done before - Wakeboarding behind those big french racing trimarans but yesterday i did it ! The boat was a 30ft trimaran, Wind was around 12-13 knots, reaching with an asymetric kite boatspeed was around 10 knots, there was no transfer dinghy! I climbed over the back of the boat, put the board on my feet, Tranferred my wieght onto the moving water and let go of the boat, Bo was on the winch and he slowly eased out the ski rope and i let out a yeehah!!
The plan was after 10 mins to winch me back in and continue sailing to the start line of the afternoons race inside Cape Grafton but as i i was being winched in i took my mind off the job and nosedived into the water!
A very scary 7 minutes later i was plucked from the Shark/crocodile/Stinger/Irukanji infested water by my crew aboard Akimbo.
I love this stuff and feel good that im very close to my 50th birthday!and still able to do physical activities like this!
Spinnaker flying is a buzz too.
Pick a spinnaker that has a flat cut if you are flying from a 40 footer or more.
Fit it with a sheet across the foot tied at 1.5 times the foot width with the tail coming back to the boat as a trip line.
Anchor from the stern, hoist the spinnaker about 3/4 up, jump in the drink and position yourself in the middle of the foot line, then fly.![]()

You will need about 10 knots of breeze or more but 15 knots may be dangerous.![]()
