I have been into the inlet at Middle Percy with an inflatable at low tide. The entrance is very narrow with rocks on both sides. Once inside, as I recall, there is not a whole lot of room to move around.
I reckon check it out with a dinghy before you try to take a yacht in there, especially a catamaran.
Wathumba Creek is on Fraser Island isn't it?
Thanks for the info.
Happy to hear The Inlet is doable. Was inspired last year doing a delivery (monohull) and taking a run in there in the tender. Was just worried as it looks very narrow with the edge on the port side going in. My cat's only 16ft wide though, so I probably wouldn't have any dramas.
Wow! Three cats! That does sound a little crowded ![]()
Yes, Wathumba is on Fraser. Tried to find the entrance a few years ago after arriving and anchoring off the night before, however, with the rising sun, SW and a bit of slop, couldn't find it...even with the co-ordinates we had been given. Would like to give it another shot this year.
Cheers

Thanks Loose Change
it's a beautiful little video and is, in fact what inspired me to get in there in 2010. Alas, it didn't happen.
Maybe if there's any cats/shallow draft boats heading that way in the September school hols, I may give it another try following them in. Wouldn't say my confidence levels are great.
Once again, thanks for everyone's help.

I've walked through it at low tide as I'm sure zillions have and encountered loads of dark shadows cruising along in the distance looking for dinner in the clear shallow waters. Sharks and big rays. Beautiful place though. Aqua coloured water.
