So the metaphoical ink is still wet on the contract for my yacht, but I've already got a do list (which I fear is an expensive proposition) though not necessarily in this order:

This year:
1. Replace all sheets and Halyards
2. Remove and repair waterlogged rudder
3. New engine mounts
4. Install holding tank
5. Replace all cabin lights with LEDs
5a. Redo electrical system

Later:
6. Remove cabin floor - install water bladder into old water tank.
7. Redo all upholstery

I think that's the do list at the moment... and I haven't even sailed her yet.....

My "To Do" list is always being re-prioritised as I find different things that need doing.

- Finish the other half of the deck with Non slip (Kiwigrip)
- Install Auto pilot - Coursemaster did me a deal at the Boat Show
- Paint the mast & then get it on the boat - all new standing & running rigging, lights, aerial etc.
- Install more winches
- Timber edging for gunwale strip
- Heaps of small stuff = re plumb both toilets to holding tank, Install extra bilge pump, Washer / wiper to windscreen, Rope locker under cockpit step, Switch block for Spreader; Running; Flood lights; - run wires, etc, etc, etc

I got a headache reading this. I don't think I'll live long enough to finish my list.

2015 (only about 16 weekends left til December!):

1. Install new dodger (95% complete)
2. Lay vinyl floor planks ala DAMA's faux teak and holly stylings (requires preps and mods)
3. ... Who am I kidding? All my jobs take 5 to 10 times as long as I think they will so that'll be it.
4. Go sailing and try to have a life besides boat stuff.
5. Oh, and DIY a 1st draft bimini for seats on aft rail using the old dodger frame.
6. Oh, and modify current cockpit shade to account for new stack pack.
7. Keep diving hull to try to extend time to next haul out

2016
1. Scrape back old antifoul. Con$ider repainting.
2. Design and build DIY self steering system
3. Address battery capacity / solar charging inadequacies.
4. Gunwale strip timber. (send me a pic of your edge Lazzarae - interested to know if it's similar and how you're approaching it)

Emotional roller coaster. Overwhelmed now. Must avoid the forum for a while.

8. Clean bilge and Fit drip tray.
9. Re wire down lights and re wire VHF ariel on mast.
10. Have a beer with the crew.......

Ekkk that does not look like a fun job mc naughty .....I have dug many rotten timbers and wet rotting laminates in the past it's like a cancer! It is pleasing to get it replaced with some marine ply and epoxy laminates though. I replaced the entire cabin sole on my last yacht and my previos power boat!

p.s if it's not structural or causing greif you can always cover it up and sort it in the future!

Thanks Southace. It's not structural. ...and so not in my nature to cover it up. .. My boat looks like a construction zone now. .sheets of marine ply and tools all over the place
