I've got a Yamaha F9.9 four stroke with the heavy duty gearbox and pusher prop to drive my 30' catamaran. It's in the shop getting serviced at the moment and it was a royal PITA to get out.
I was looking at making a lifting strop as it mounts nearly directly under where the main halyard drops but on surfing the net, I found mention of a lifting point under the flywheel cover for Yamaha outboards. The ones in the picture seemed to use a screw in eye into the flywheel on top of the engine but they were also bigger models.
If you have one of these could you look under the plastic flywheel cover and see what's there or if you have knowledge then that's good too.
It's a bit hard for me to go digging around the workshop and mine's not due to be serviced for a couple of weeks...

Got two of them. New props are a bargin,just payed(y'day) $95 each for factory.

I had Yamaha 9.9FTAES in my Noelex 30. I used to tie a lifting strop around the powerhead but had always "planned" to bolt a pair of saddle clips onto each side of the case at the balance point to assist with lifting. I lifted the motor out of the well with the mainsheet tackle and raised lowered to the ground every time I trailed the boat over great distance so it really would have been worthwhile from a timesaving perspective.
I dont recall that there is provision to screw a lifting eye into the flywheel, I am pretty sure the alternator is bolted on top. Would also be a pain in the arse to have to take the cowl and covers off because that is exactly when you are going to drop that critical nut overboard. I did lift mine with the cowling off because I could connect the morse cables before the motor dropped into the well and became totally inaccessible.

Must be able to find some web strap on the side of the road. Get it stitched up into a couple of straps that would suit. We throw out cut straps everyday...pity you're not closer
You should be able to get an adjustable webbing harness from a marine supplier. These go around the power head ( with the cover still on) and usually have a strong metal ring at the top to attach to a pulley or similar. We have one permanently attached to our auxiliary outboard (dinghy) which was. 9.9 Mariner (about the same size and weight of the Yamahas) and with the small crane and pulley arrangement we added to the targa bar, it was a fairly easy lift off the bar and swing around and down to the dinghy transom.
