Been on the market for at least a year. Has been mentioned here on SB before. I have seen it at Coffs Hbr before the marina was destroyed.

It's a long drive from Sydney or Brisbane and the boat has narrow appeal. I don't think anyone will dispute the amazing deal and that the boat may be fundamentally sea worthy. The new engine is a plus.

There is a lot of apparent visible water damage in the interior. Assuming water damage, there would be a huge amount of work to make the cabin suitable for cruising, let alone wife/girlfriend friendly. If the rigging is more than 10 years old or the through hull fittings are old, or there is osmosis (usually present), out of date safety gear, old electronics, old batteries, and old sails, the gap grows. A $40K boat with all this stuff done is a much better deal.

On the other hand if you wanted a performance boat to go around the cans, an Adams 10 would be as cheap and lots more fun.

It's a pity because it's a classic with lovely wood work, that someone really loved. As the ad says will appeal to an enthusiast.

I like it too. Yes, it needs work - but everything does, in that price bracket. Doesn't look too bad from the photos though, will be interested to see what it is like on viewing (waiting for a report, Sectorsteve!).

All it takes is someone with the ability to dream. Surely we haven't all lost that?

Boat looks good actually. Pretty good nick. Needs a lil clean. Windows are a lil cracked. Inside actually looks fine. Rigging looks fine. Slight bit of growth on hull. Furlers removed. Cockpits massive. Gelcoat looks fine. Id def buy it. Good boat.

Steve,

Those photos are much more inviting than in the gum tree add, even if they are upside down. Hey Steve, you could just transfer all your stuff, leave your old boat on the old mooring and continue on your trip !

Gee whiz, now I am starting to dream.

That thought crossed my.mind!
Inside doesn't look water damaged. Just needs a lil tlc. Not much to do on her really.

My experience tells me there's about 10k worth to bring her back to safe and comfy cruising! That's not including looking at the engine machinery fitting and power supplies.
