Definitely a day to stay on land and not sailing in Bass Straight, Damn winters here.

In NSW I think winter is the best time to sail, predominately Westerly winds make for nice beam reach sailing with flattish seas and easier bar crossings.
Although the Westerlys tend to be a little gustier than a seabreeze.
