Isn't it oakum and hemp you are supposed to use?

aaaarrr Me bucko oakum and hemp think the mates have used up the hemp.
we keelhauled a few last night, the others we tied to the yard arms.
Last time i was at whitworths(yesterday) they were all out of oakum and hemp
But me lads they did have sikaflex, but no whenches, I'll have to go offshore for those
6 bells I'm outta here

Did you know that "Oakum and Hemp Pty. Ltd." is the parent company of Glasscraft Marine? Just another snippett of interesting but useless information. Have you been checking your inbox Miltihull1?

My boat formerly called Onsala ??? and now called Cisco has been dry for 5 years now and I think needs some caulking

But I don't think Oakum and Hemp will work here

i have one like onsala , need to sandblast the whole thing and see if it is all the same if not it is a nice shape if no good then plant some pumpkins in it they like iron. meanwhile dont use hemp to caulk it is too hard sisal is the go.
