Sumlog hull sensor in my hull . I am wondering if this would interchange with a tack tick T103 depth speed triducer.
Im apprehensive about removing the old sensor while in the water and not on the hard . I have no idea how long its been in there and I would not think its been removed or touch in the last ten years probably more. From what I can find out most hull through sensor seem to be able to be swapped out easily. Any ideas ?

I have the same situation except the blank is in the fitting. I think VDO Sumlogs have seen their day.

When I have her on the hard next I will be taking the whole fitting out and either fitting a skin fitting with sea cock as a suction valve for a deck wash pump or just blanking it off completely.

They are only a plastic fitting and getting pretty old now so I would be reluctant to go mucking around with it while floating. If you are going to play with it make sure you have a hammer and correct size wooden bungs handy. You could precipitate an early visit to the hard stand.

Ill wait Cisco Thought about it a few times better on the hard . I can just see me reaching for my mobile which would be out of each with my hand over a plastic tube with sea water gushing out and no hammer in site or wooden bung
I hope to be doing the sea cocks in the next couple of months . Ill sort it out then

Way to go buddy.

A gusher in the cabin is not what one wants at any time. I have pulled out the blank on previous boats and had the transducer handy to insert but there is always a moment of doubt.

I'm still using mine. In fact, just got it working again (switch was faulty). Fitting was leaking prior to last haul out so got it sorted and now I get to enjoy that wonderful gush of water through the hull when I change over between transducer and the blank.

Of course I'd rather a modern 3-in-1 but that would cost a boat dollar or so.

Probably two boat dollars Dr Rog But I'm doing it some time in the next few months . I just didn't like having holes entering my cabin and the sun and weather beating down on my instrument's Plus Ill make a face plate for the tack tick to make it removable off the instrument pod and could possible make a spot for it inside the cabin if needed.
Its all a case of which bit to replace first Dr Rog you know excaltly what I mean
