i have recently got my old nasa stingray fluxgate compass working and it looks like i need to calibrate it. Does any one have a manual for these old things.
I have the fitting instructions but they are not telling me how to re calibrate ![]()
thanks loosechange i will give that a try next time out i would say if i do the circle fair chance the compass will reset itself to correct heading.

All mine have simply been rotating the housing within its bracket.
Usually the housing clicks into the bracket that allows rotation.
simply face a known heading and rotate housing until correct number shows on the display.
Hope I've understand the question correctly ?
A quick google seems to show that the whole bracket swivels when you loosen the attachment screws.
all sorted the compass was mounted under the chart table and when i removed the large box of steel screws that were directly above it whammo she changed to about 10 degrees out which i am told will self correct by doing a circle for 2/3 minutes at 1/2 knots screws aye bit embarrassing but hey pleased to get it sorted ![]()
