NOW that is ****ing pointless, if you want to sail a keel boat then get a keel boat, if you want a skiff sail a skiff, but dont go turning a skiff into a keel boat.

The 29er is a tippy boat, with a keel you can single hand it,

Given the "keel" can be removed and replaced easily by the std centreboard, I would be more inclined to ask "why not".

Sometimes people just want to get on the water, and either dont want to bring someone else along, or just want to try sailing a boat with a kite up on their own.

Looks like a great mod to me.

Having a fat chunk of lead like that is going to be seriuosly bad for the centre board case, and if you cant learn to sail a boat like that single handed then get an easier one.
Bloody stupid idea

so u have neva changed anything on any of your boats to make life easier and by that more fun?
ever filled your tyres with water, put gaffa tape around the base of a pulley or taken a texta to a rope?
u r such a pessimist that most would think your not worth knowing

Kitecrazzy, stop being a sook. Putting a massive chunk of lead on the bottom of a 13ft skiff is a bit different to marking one of your lines with a texta.
What is the story with filling your tyres with water? I was going to be pessimistic and say that's a stupid idea but I'm sure you can tell me .
You should get some lead and strap it underneath your kite board, that would work really well.

water in your tyres makes the trolley sink so ya dont scratch your hull.
if it lets him take the boat out more and he enjoys himself at the same time...

had an old bent rig for a 420 at one stage. put another set of spreaders on it and then decided that it would be a good idea to throw a couple of panels into the guts of the kite. Mast head kite on a 420 in 25 knots of breeze. about 200kg on over the side...**** it went!

Still have it in a shed but sold the boat, and have stripped the mast.

Wish i new about prodders and Assys when i was playin with that cos I would have has a meter long prodder on the boat as well!

Yeh we did a similar thing to a flying ant in qld. except we put an asso on it, We used an MG14 kite template and the kite ended up around 9sqm.
We messed around with a bigger jib aswell, but that was a disaster, as it just decided to sink the bow constantly upwind.
