I'd like to get some advice about new headsails. The vessel is a Cavalier 26. All the sails on the boat are 25+ years old. I haven't yet taken I & J measurements and was hoping someone on here might have a sail plan for this particular boat. It doesn't have a furler and my idea is to order two hank on headsails and a main from Hong Kong. The only usable headsails on the boat are a working jib (also 25+ years old but still ok) and a storm sail. So with only two headsails to order, i'm thinking a no.1 gen 150% and something else, prob a no.1 jib. If anyone here knows where I can get a sail plan for this vessel or even just some advice about ordering a couple headsails, it would be much appreciated. By the way I'm down at WMYC most weekends and would be happy to meet any other Cav 26 owners for a chat.
I would suggest contacting Tony Bull of Bull sails in Victoria. He is Galatea on this forum. Tony builds sails and also has sails built in China like most sailmakers do. He will have the measurements most likely but also will offer advice on what materials to use for your intended use.
Also there is eBay. The Cav 26 sail plan is similar to all the other quarter tonners of the era and if your sticking with hanks there are heaps of secondhand racing sails to suit. I had a M&W 26 and used to buy sails off eBay. Laminate headsails off big trailer sailers etc. I have a good mainsail in Dacron that will probably suit too.

Tony is presently at Lake Garda coaching the Aust Int Cadet team at the World Championships. Tony coached last years World Champions.
I understand that with the dollar at is current value Tony is assembling his sails in the Geelong loft from computer designed and laser cut components (imported).
Support your local, it's worth the service.
Thanks for all the info. Is there a particular store on ebay where I can find sails? What do you search for? If I search for sail it brings up patio covers etc.
This one is good:http://stores.ebay.com.au/secondhandsailsandaccessories?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
here is his blurb:

Sailing Gear. I have bought sails from Alan in the link above and his descriptions are particularly accurate. Private sales are much cheaper though, particularly if they don't post and you live near by.
