I'm running low on 5 to 1 epoxy and there is a bote cote dealer not far away ,which would be a different ratio . But my main concern would changing effect any thing . Or should I just drive the 1/2 hour each way to buy the 5 to 1?

It's always best to stick with one epoxy and get used to it. Switching brands is not a problem as epoxy really sticks like **** to a blanket. As a precaution abraid the surface or wash down with warm soapy water in case of some amine blush but there is no problem. Check whether the new epoxy is ratio ed by weight or volume or both.
Just remember there are only about 3 manufacturers of epoxy worldwide. All these brands we see are just mixers of stock just like Castrol/Penrite etc in the oil business who just mix other stock. Only the advertising is different.

Ill change to boat cote as its close by 
My filler sagged a little on my port lights cut outs, so Ill have extra sanding to do > didn't add enough Qcel to my epoxy today dam it its not to bad ,but now Ill have to sand and reapply . I used some fast cure hardener thought I would not need as much , plus I used a different epoxy brand . Should have just made a small batch first .
Well I have learn t some thing today

You can warm the resin by putting the resin containers in a tub of warm water this will help it cure faster. Don't adjust the recomended ratio with the epoxy hardner .
If your filling mix your filler to the consistency of icecream.
I would never use boat-cote but at least it got you out of troube.
nuplex resins / FGI would be the best place to purchase.
