sailing from sydney to hervey bay

i am intrested in any opinions on a sailing trip from sydney to hervey bay. keen to not rush and ancor each night (if at all possible). any suggestions on the best places to stop over night, good marinas that rent berths over night, best time of year to go (given prevailing winds) and any other thoughts!

Do you have a copy of Alan Lucas's "Cruising the NSW Coast", if not pick up a copy, it'll tell you most things,
Laurieton is a great port, bar isnt too bad, be careful of other bars.
others may have better info..
