What are the the most reliable times for cruising/sailing in Queensland between Brisbane and the Whitsundays?
Any suggestions from those who are sailing up there frequently?

March to October are best ... then we usually get northerlies anytime November to early December and its best to be catching them and head south to avoid the cyclone season up north. I usually head south but this year I am sitting out the wet in Port Douglas which is a pretty good cyclone bolt hole.

I love Tweed Heads as a summer place, but watch the bar. Bundaberg is pretty darn good as well with reasonable facilities, nice town and handy well priced slipping.

On your way north, Island Head Creek is a great anchorage and make time to explore the Percy Islands. The Newry Islands just north of Mackay are also a pretty darn good spot and often overlooked by people heading to the Whitsunday's.
