The problem is not just the A frame, but the pivot point. The mast base of the Top Hat is not designed to allow the mast to pivot. I have done it on a Bluebird using the spinnaker pole with multiple braces, and lashing the mast base to allow it to pivot. It was hairy on the mooring, and for a Top Hat I wouldnt do it.
See if you can get your local mooring contractor with a crane on their barge, to lift it off for you. If you have done all the preparation it will be quick and a lot safer. And maybe not that expensive.
I'm using an A frame and need to know the size of the timber. Im pretty sure 6m is sweet. About 2 thirds of the mast height
Im not pivoting the mast with boom yara. Im lifting it out using A frame. Good idea about getting mooring contractor and i did ask him but he doesnt have a crane on his barge. Besides i wanna learn how to do this myself. Tomorrow im setting the frame up and if all goes well ill drop the mast tomorrow afterrnoon- not literally i hope!
Does your locaal marina/yacht club have a work jetty/pontoon? A Franna to lift it would not cost much if you do all the prep yourself and there is usually an area where you can work on it when it is out.
Have you looked at the You tube clips on how its done Steve?
There are plenty of examples for 25' yachts.
The idea is to have the two timbers meet about 1 metre above the spreader. That gives plenty of room for the loop and block. You only need to lift the mast about 150mm or so to pivot it clear of the deck. Use a stock size treated pine section, something like 45 x 35 that you can use for another project. Lash the bases to the toerail and brace the two uprights for and aft.
I have 2 spreaders so im not sure this applies as my top spreader is probably 2.5 metres from mast head.
Ive been watchin the videos alot. I think i understand it enough now to to it. Im going to be using bamboo.

Not sure how you will go with two sets of spreaders. One set it's easy as they are pretty close to the pivot point and the mast seems to weigh very little. Probably have to take a guess where the pivot point is and arrange the strop so that it stays in that position while you walk the base of the mast forward or aft. Perhaps fix the strop in position with a halyard!
Use a lifting strop (round/endless) hitched around you bottom spreaders and then run up along the mast and hitched again at where you want your pivot point.
These are available in 1 ton (purple) and 1m through to 6m in 1m increments.
Oh and they aren't expensive either!!
