Looking at buying a yacht on Queensland to bring back to WA

Does anyone have knowledge about this route? What's the best time of year? Do you go around the top or the bottom?

How much time should you allow?

Cheers, Ben

Depends on what yacht. Sailing I would only consider the south route and allow probably 8 weeks and pick the weather.

Truck would probably be "cheaper". Company would probably have a back load from Perth to Qld. Its amazing how many boats do interstate truck trips.

I recently drove over to melbourne from Perth and purchaced my new boat, 7000 kms in 10 days with 2.5 days rest in melbourne before returning to Perth. I have driven from brissy home to Perth a few years back, Probably head S/W from bris to dubbo then broken hill, ceduna noresman then Perth. Or give Kwickshots Plus a call on 0427 908 174 he specialises in boat delivery Australia wide but is based in Gidgegannup WA. He might have a good price for you....

I just brought my 7.8m boat from brissy to Adelaide.

Cheapest transport company quote was about $2100 dearest was $7000. Keep in mind that the boat is on a roadworthy trailer and the quotes did not include packing up or picking it up from a club. That included asking about back trips and hire cars.

Drove up there with total cost ~$1000 but took about 10 days round trip
