Thumbs Up

A few weeks ago while we were on a passage we noticed well out to sea what looked to be a water spout forming. Dark clouds with a twister type shape forming it started to go down towards the water then dissapated reformed and then disapeared.
Been thinking what I would do if it had of formed and headed to us.
Step one would have been furled the headsail then would probably pull the main down and motor with storm boards in place and tethered to boat.
what is the accepted action to take when hit by a water spout?

Furl heady tight. Drop main and tie it down. Clear every loose item off the deck. Tie tiller firmly. Go below, storm boards in. Wait half an hour. Go back on deck.
