Hi everyone,
I am restoring my triton 24 inside and will need some wood to make a new vberth and some reinforcements.
Where do you buy good wood?
cheers
There used to be Mr Wood&ply but they've gone now in favour of Bunnings. There are still
specialist wood suppliers but if you want ordinary ply cut to size.......Bunnings.
Bruynzeel at Brookvale - not that cheap, but I've always had good service and quality. They cut panels to size.
Sydney Wood Industries in Mona Vale. They specialise in exotics, and do some marine ply as well (when last I checked) Their range of sustainable teak and fijian mahogany is pretty good.
#2 for Sydney wood industries mona vale. We bought some excellent marine ply there and they cut to size.
Cheers

Marine ply:
Mr Plywood
2 Burrows rd.
Alexandria
Ordered something today at 11 am, got call to pick up at 3pm.
Bunnings is selling inferior quality and it is not much cheaper.
Cedar or hardwood available at Mr Plywood.![]()
I was just looking at the Sydney wood industries website and they mention Gaboon, Fijian cedar and Teak marine ply. I've used Gaboon before but does anyone know the relative weights for the three plys? Otherwise I'll give them a call in the next few weeks and post.
Hate to say it but Bunnings has marine ply. Three different widths, two different sizes. I bought a bit and have left an offcut outside for three years, no sealant or paint and it's still intact, no lsminate peelng (but pretty grey looking...)

How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
As much wood as a wood chuck would chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood.
Try saying that quickly. ![]()
I am trying to say this since you posted... not easy (especially with my french accent)
Thks for the help, I guess it will be bunnings first as it is just to make a berth but I keep the others adress for later.
Cheers!
Bon vent!
