thought it felt a little windy with the 4.2 yesterday......time to get a smaller sail
If I was silly enough to go down in 90 knot winds with a GPS unit, strap myself into a kite and get dragged across water for 500m would it count?

I would say their wind meter died... this happened a few back here in Sydney... the wind meter "got stuck" when a 135Km/h gust hit.
Gut luck sailing in a sustained 77knts though. my guess is you'd have problems getting out of the car let alone rigging your 2 sqm sail.
was talking to an old lighthouse ceeper a few years back he worked on tasman island . any way was telling me how hard it was to get regular surplise cause of weather so here decided to gets some chooks well all was going well to a storm similar to the one we just had and he said last time he had seen his chooks they were blown of there roost and headed for antartica

is this part of the nukin' winds that's howling thru central melbourne as shown on cnn and the front that's passing thru upping the winds to 30kts. plus everywhere east of nsw
