Hi guys. I don't have a go pro, but have been interested in one, or something similar for some time now. The Oregon Action camera seems to do the same thing plus lots more. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has one, or believes the go pro to be a better option. See link below. Cheers
Oh, by the way my camera knowledge is somewhat limited so any advice would be appreciated ![]()

I got the next model down. The quality is cr@p compared to the GoPro for mine. I also used a Lumix FT2 and it recently died after a couple of months, water got through the seals..... I have to wait five weeks for the news from Panasonic and the thing failed after following ALL instructions.....c@nts....
I am now going to get a GoPro and only use it on a flymount. GoPro has a decent case, is light and a very decent quality picture. Plus it can do pulse photos (timed) so you get large res rather than just screen grabs from videos at 3mb at best.....
Only my opinion, but am really disappointed with the Lumix and the Oregon..........
I can't comment on the Oregon but I can comment on the GoPro. Its unreal. Its a great example of something designed to do one thing and to do it better than anything else ever made.
Yes I have the newest GoPro.
I don't think I'll worry about the LCD screen as I see the GoPro as a sort of point and shoot device. Not a camera you check the angle and review footage on.
If I make it up to the Burrum GPS comp I'll take the GoPro with me and will take some footage. I'll try and buy a few different mounts so the footage can be mixed up a bit.
I have the ATC9K with the GPS module and the picture quality is bit better than the GoPro HD. The battery life is heaps better. The GPS option is ok, but the altitude display is good.
When we get wind again, I will use the ATC9k on my helmet and the GoPro on the mast or boom.
