Ok, I need a set of harness lines and ideally adjustable. The catch is, they'll need to be ones that can go on the boom without having to pull it apart. I tried to undo the 8 screws holding it together but failed big time, even with an impact screw driver! ...
Anyway, and suggestions for lines would be great![]()
Cheers,
Phil
gday Phil, I know that Mauisails adjustable ones have a velcro strap/buckle system that lets you put them on without removing the tail end. Others may know of different brands.
I'm assuming you tried to take the adjustable tail end off and not just the head? Normally the tail end plastic boom clips will just pull off, although they can be tight if the boom is a bit salt encrusted.
cheers

Good thinking 99! I looked at them and figured they were pressed / clamped permanently on. I just gave them a few taps and bumps with a hammer and pice of flat bar and they slowly came off. Totally salt encrusted but problem solved, thanks James.![]()
Now I hope these fixed length harness line I have are the right length...
Just a suggestion, why not try tying a piece of thin rope onto the boom the length you think might suit you. That way you can work out the size you want and just buy a fixed pair. I've used adjustables before and they just kept slipping, maybe the brand?
they can be a pain,
i had an awesome set years ago that were made by north. worked for years without issue. eventually i broke the clip and replaced them with the latest north model. they turned out to be dogs. changes to the design left them not functioning properly.
a few guys then recommended neil pryde, so i switched and they work very well also. but i think there was one version of the prydes that also had issues.
it's a bit of a lottery.
