Our good friend Andy Regan the distributor of Slingshot and Mystic has been ill for a few weeks. Originally thought to be a pinched nerve, but after having an MRI they found a tumour on his spine.
Andy has been hospitalized and is under heavy medication for the pain, and not up to communication with anyone at this stage.
Andy has built a great team around him, and in regards to Slingshot and Board Crazy it is business as usual and everything is still on track for the upcoming season.
His family has expressed appreciation for the support so far, and the respect for their privacy at this time.
We all look forward to seeing Andy back soon.
Another kiteboarder who had a recent brush with cancer, Bruce E, called and suggested it would be good to allow all those wanting to pass on their good wishes and support for Andy via this forum.
That way we can let him know how much support he has from the kiteboarding network.
Please post your letters of support for Andy on here.
p.s. See letters of support in kitesurfing forum also
And don't forget the Sailworks distributor and the those great Caveman boards from the past-a legend windsurfer- well before the kiting came along.
Andrew offered me a sponsorship deal back in the 1990's with Sailworks sails and showed great support for my windsurfing school, also enjoyed two great trips to Maui with the Board Crazy crew
Very sad to hear Andrew is in hospital, -get well soon, we need to see you back out Windsurfing
take care
Kellie
Andy[ronnie]Regan has helped me out with equipment since I was 14 and was always a sailor I respected and looked up to. Best wishes and hang in there.

Andrew an absolute icone on the australian windsurfing scene for ever! A mentor and a very good friend to us all. Always there to help with any problems we may have had in this wonderful sport. So very very clever in what ever he chooses to do.
Enjoyed so much meeting up with him on Garda a little while ago. Love you so much please get better soon!!!
Tibor and Irene
G'day Andy,
Having known you for almost 30 Years I know you will approach your illness and recovery with the same will and determination you have shown in every thing you do.
As other friends and members have said, you are a living legend in our sport and have achieved things most of us only dream about.
Your personal achievements are only just pipped at the marker by your dedication to the sport and the people involved in it, at all levels.
While I am sitting here I was mentally trying to add up how many boards, sails, masts, booms and associated gear I have bought from you since you opened your first shop in Belmont ( not game to tally it here, just in case Deb reads this).
I am sure it won't be long before you are back into it but please slow down a little and look after yourself. Thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Andrew. Sorry to hear you are in the wars at present. But just take a look at Lance Armstong........he was a big mess & beat it. You are strong in all that you do. Lance wrote " its not about the bike". When you beat this we want to read your book called "Its ALL about the kite!" Hope you are feeling a bit better soon.
Dave
You will be out of there in no time Ronnie. Hospital food is crap. Seriously though hope you have a speedy recovery and will catch up with you soon.
Dean & Leeann Hendrie
Andrew, I've just read the bad news. Like everyone who knows you I think you are too nice a guy for this to happen to you. But illness doesn't discriminate. And like everyone who knows you I know you'll get through it with the help of medicine and with your physical strength an strength of character. You helped me to get a lot out of windsurfing with your sponsorship in the 80s and 90s and your support and advice since. Your achievments in windsurfing and kitesurfing and your support for these marvellous watersports have made you someone to look up to. If there is anything I can do to help let me know. Paul Davies.
When you get back I'll try not to beat you down for the cheapect price..
..I'm feeling guilty now..
Always enjoy the banter...![]()
Andrew, I am living proof that people can beat the big C (many times).
Just hang in there and Good Luck.
Hey Ronnie,
Hope it's gettin better, i'll keep in touch with the guys to see how your coming along..
Had my first summer sailing sessons this weekend and know i wouldn't be still sailing after all these years if you hadn't kept the Newi crew going for so long... more stoked than ever, even after 24 years..
