Nah but it's on the list for next year. Still too many hours away for my liking, closer than Maui but further away then New Caledonia.

You're more than welcome over here, especially with your bl##dy dollar being so strong !!

And hire gear here is excellent !
Three rental outlets on the main spot.

No waves though....

Hi Brad,

I went to Boracay about 5 years ago.
The gear was excellent and it was windy every morning.
The lagoon is great for flat water blasting and freestyle.

They hold the Asian championships there and aparently a lot of the gear stays behind.

There are a number of places that hire gear on Boracay. I used the NP test centre. All current year NP rigs and JP boards. I hadnt pre-arranged hire - just rocked up when we got to the island.

Prices were excellent as well.

Great place for diving also - wind dies of in the arvo so you can do a combined sail and dive holiday no problem.

For accomodation i stayed on the western side of the island. It means you have to cross the island to sail (less than 1 k walk) but youll be where all the restaurants and non-sailing activities happen.

if you want any other info just ask.

Great destination - youll love it.

So wind dies in the arvo wow isn't that the reverse of most places? Cool though cause morning sail then other stuff in the arvo. Does the island have surf?

yeah it was strange that it is windy in the morning, but that was the norm. i was there for 10 days and had wind everyday.

as for surf - nope. sometimes there is chop imitating surf outside the lagoon but thats it, so if you are looking for a wave sailing location then Boracay may not be for you.

ohh and take booties - the urchins!!

Nah not a wave sailor at all but a surfer and SUP rider so a small wave is always welcome. How was apres sail?

Can anyone answer these ?????

Whats the best time of year for favourable wind at Bulabog Beach?

Can you recommend any decent accomodation away from the nightlife but close enough to some bars for a few quiet beers after a long day sailing/kiting?

Whats the price for hire gear or can you give me some names of places to research?

Cheers,
EB

Nov. - March...Green Yard Test center(NP, Cabrinha,JP etc.), Starboard Test ctr.(starboard, Severn) and Horst Lauer's (JP, asst. NP, F2)..best bet for Bulabog side where all the wind sports are anyways it's a 5min tricycle ride to the main beach and just about anywhere you could have a drink..prices usually are 30-50us$ per hour but you could always package to drop it down..beer 50cents to a dollar depending on where you drink..wind from 12-35 kts..just go and don't check Windguru so you are assured wind :)
