Anyone had experience with buying from overseas? Boards are cheaper o/seas. If you were to purchase one what are the hidden costs/ problems..Ok you have to pay freight..is there a fee to let it onto the country.etc
Also do new boards come with fins or do you have to buy them separately?
Like muzza said, freight would cost a lot, probably $300+
also you will need to pay import duties, thou for some countries and items, i.e. from the USA, you can bring things in for free as far as I know if they are valued under $1000.
Whats your budget anyway? I'd say keeping a sharp eye on buy and sell and a little patience will net you a good deal. For your weight and the sail sizes you like to use I'd also suggest that there is probably no point looking at boards over 110L.
Sue, there is a few 118-133lt boards in the buy and sell section or for new try Carbon Art,good value and easy to sail fast
There is a 2008 jp supersport 118L for $1200 on buy and sell, would be perfect for you. I reckon you could talk that down to $1000 easily depending on the seller (its a 2008 board, and its not a pro edition board so far as I can tell, $1200 might be justified for a pro edition board if it was in mint condition, considering 09 pro edition boards are going for $1500ish), or $1100 posted to you. Postage using www.smartsend.com.au would be less then $100.
