Anyone got any pointers for the best place to stay for sailing on the coast?
Will need to hire kit too so any indication on shops, etc?
TIA
for bump and jump i reckon the best is mooloolaba but this time of year the wind is the wrong direction so most people either go to golden beach/caloundra bar or lake catharaba.
from caloundra to mooloolaba is about 25 minutes.
noosa to the Catharaba is about 30 minutes.
Mooloolaba - NW, N, NE
Lake Catharaba - SW, S, SE, E, N
flat water go to golden beach S, SE, E, NE, N
caloundra bar SW for bump and jump (incoming tide only)
you could also try cotton tree at maroochydore, i haven't sailed there myself.

Thanks Gestalt, really appreciate it!
I am expecting to be up there in Mid September - whats the wind situation likely to be then?
that time of year is normally good with Northerlies, Nor-Westerlies and Nor-Easters. ![]()
throw a few SE's in for good measure too.
you may need booties to wade through the 100 tons of toxic fuel oil currently washing up on the beaches.![]()
