The nature of my work demands that I get my leave sorted out now if I want holidays in spring '09. I want to make a windsurfing trek from Qld to WA but need to pick the month that will get me the most windy days. I'll be looking for flat water and bump and jump sailing and maybe even some sort of easy learner wave if there is one.

So, what's the latest best info on the best four weeks to visit WA in spring Sept? Oct? Nov?

nov, (normally) - best bet 4 wind.

theres still prob a bit of swell lingering around to get some L waves in.

watch out, if it gets too hot, it aint going to blow.

this season has been phenominal sept through to feb , hardly used my 5.7

If you come over the top, Exmouth usually has good wind from September on. But as you go south, the good winds arrive a bit later.
Geraldton late October early November.
Perth late November early December.

As I recall the last several years, the month of November has not had than many windy days. Also, once the "Christmas"/late December heat-through moves inland, January tends to have two or three weeks of non-stop wind. Mid December to mid-late January in Geraldton can provide enough 20+ knot days to satisfy the most hard-core sailing zealots.

January is best but out of sept/Oct /Nov - go for the latest possible.
The winds start in September but it's still pretty cold and uninviting. The wind and overall weather improves as the season continues.

Hmm this is different to what I thought (October) I might have to put off my leave a few extra months. My boss will be happy at least.
