Wondering if anyone has been to Boracay for a windsurf vacation and don't mind sharing your experience and advice as I am looking at going there at the end of January next year

Boracay is awesome! Quintessential tropical island, flat water sailing, heaps of cool bars and restaurants (& heaps of fresh Mango's), walk everywhere - basically just have a good time. theres a windy side of the island which has the hire places - then the more popular leeward side of the island with the bars etc
been a while since i've been there, and i took my own gear, but stayed with Nenette Graf who runs a resort and one of the gear hirers - sure she'd look after you if you looked her up
little bit of a mission to get there, so hiring gear is the go. I stayed overnight in Manila on the way in and couldn't get out of there quick enough, so i'd bypass Manila if you have the option
check out when the tides are - during king tides the sailing area becomes dry during low tide, so sucks if its during the middle of the day. But normal tides are ok. typically 15-25kn - i was there over xmas so similiar time
i loved it - definately on the list for a re-visit sometime
Manila is ok, you just need to have a thing for midget boxing, traffic and regular flooding....
We are doing the same trip early next year. I think going via Manila is the only realistic way to get there from Oz. Maybe you could fly from jakarta to kalibo? I am "fortunate" enough to have been to Manila loads of time for work so the Manila lay over is pretty uncomplicated for us luckily. I am looking forward to taking the boys out for a night on the town there. Should be one to remember.

Other than dwarf throwing/boxing and catching something exotic. Eating mangoes is fine. I was angling at seriously quenching my thirst for some solid windsurfing as there is only enough wind in Dubai, where I currently reside, for kite-boarding and that's not a option. I'll have to rent equipment whilst there. Wondering if anyone can shed some light on rental company's?

Unfortunately, the wind is best during the monsoon period and I don't have that time off. I would have tried Greece if I had time off during June-August.
