And its been heard that Starboard and Severne are going to cough up the biccies for his hospital stay, nice move!!

Sorry, shouldnt get ahead of myself. Apparently he smacked his head on his gear in a triple loop gone wrong at Hookipa and lost consciousness. Another pro was right there and pulled his head out of the water and the lifeguards rescued him. Now in hospital a bit of a mess.
On the PWA website and a few Maui blogs.

What an amazing aerialist!!! Would like to see the full list of gear he trashes in one season.

Best wishes for a quick recovery.

i love the way he aggressively attacks the lip at angle and gets such speed off of it. those rig transitions in air are unbelievable...i kept watching them over and over.

great post.

The 1st part of the vid was hard to watch though-wasn't it? He wasn't moving too much there. I think I would have been out of there like a shot, never to do those crazy flick spinny aerial things again!

It looks like he's got his sailing buddies to do the surgery!

Would you let any of your messed-up mates from your local loose on you with a hypodermic, needle and thread? Even the doctors?

^what he said.
Looks like his feet came out of his footstraps on the third rotation just before face planting it into his gear. Amazing to think what he can do.

Edit - apologies, on review he was still well and truly connected to the board when he hit the water.

i wonder if he'd have made it if he started spinning on the way up like ricardo campello does, rather than the robert terrytoweling method of waiting till he's right at the top

impressive either way
