Hi, I'm currently requiered to undertake a personnal research project on the Theme of Surfaces. I thought I might as well do it on a subject I like.

I was thinking that explaining the science (essentially aerodynamism) of the windsurf sail , why they're build as they are, and creating one, given specific conditions (board, windspeed) would make a good project.
Yhat's why I'm asking if anyone has any recommandations on which sites, books, and any other type of information to give me.
I appreciate the help, thanks to all.

What level are you doing this on- secondary/undergrad/hons? There are easier surfaces than sails which are very 3 dimensional, in that you have the cross section of the foil then there is twist, flex, different aoa etc. Something easier would be fins which there is stacks of good info on, not that im trying to dissuade you.

I'm sure barry had a bit to say on early mauisails forum about sail design and you can start working your way through the hundreds of good links on google, hmm what was life like again before google

Can't wait until the day Laurie openly exposes idiots like you.
It might be very embarrassing for quite a few people me thinks
