I'm off to Byron next week for 5 days and am wondering if I should take the windsurfing kit? The SUP's will be packed but I'm not sure if Byron gets a NE or Southerly?
Any advice would be gratefully received!
Thanks
Agree with above. At this time of year you are still more likely to get a NE sea Breeze, but SE winds are also becoming more prevelent too from now till autumn.
Anything from the south head to flat rock...........long fun waves.......Any north, sail about midway up the beach at Lennox. I have tried to sail a NE at byron many times, but have never had consistency - the NE is dead onshore and has always been "holey' and gusty. If you have big gear this may not be a problem. If you want to sail at Byron, if the swell is small you can take off anywhere and tack out, or take the easy way out and launch from "The Pass". Hope you get some wind.
