Diva Moi already posted a notice regarding the proposed 'harbour development' in the South Fremantle area.
The red line shows where the new harbour and boat sheds/stackers would be built:
No more winter sailing at crazies if this one goes ahead, 5 story boat stackers would cause a huge windshadow ...![]()
Guess the sandbar which causes the waves will be affected too...
On a brighter note, those of us with floating gin palaces won't have so far to drive to our toys which is good right?

Hey YOYO don't fall for the Fremantle mayors line regarding the lead shipments -- for at least the last 5 years sodium CYANIDE has been transported to the port in exactly the same proposed method -- there would have to be a MAJOR crash to see any of these products spilt. Esperence was criminal in terms of the way the shipments were run ( and you've got to hope that Magellan and cronies get hit real hard ) but container transport has to be one of the safest methods of transport around.
He only jumps up and down when it suits his political or business interests !!!
Just had a look at the 3 proposals. That red line you have shown isnt the development, it is the area of interest. The worst thing about it is all proposals have a marina entrance facing the dog beach. I dont think that Crazies will be effected by either of the proposals. Considering most of the time you sail there it is predominantly Westerly.
I dont think Crazies is going to be the tucked away little spot it has been for very long due to all the development happening around there.
If you want to have your say get onto it because you only have until Feb 1
Crazies is best in winter North Westerlies.
If they actually build this thing where they're proposing I don't see how Crazies can avoid being affected by the wind shadow.
I'm only guessing about the sand movements, change the coastline that dramatically and it's anybody's guess what will happen?
I'm not against intelligent development for the benefit of residents, it's just that they always seem to annex public assets like beaches (Coogee for example), and who actually benefits from these changes?
In a couple of years there won't be any metro beaches to windsurf and kite and kayak from.
Its our beach. Don't let them F**k it up.!!![]()

They may as well put agiant sewer pipe out there and pump as much crap into the ocean as they can.Thats about the same benefit to the G.P..Its the pricks that are already loaded beyond what they need in this life that will make any money from it.![]()

if the marina doesn't **** it up, then lead contamination probably will thanks to Ivernia Inc....yeah you fat cats get fatter at the expense of the health of Australians .....
AAAAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (primal scream)
To everybody who has ever sailed at crazy waves/South Beach a protest meeting against the proposed development has been organised for 10am to 12 midday at South Beach on Sunday the 20th of January.....if anybody remembers the protests against the Leighton Beach development a few years back well that is the commitment needed to stop/change/minimise the proposed development.....so to all you kitesurfers and windsurfers get down there and be seen and heard......rumour has it that John Butler is going to rock up
