I'm about to move to Eltham (NE of CBD in Melbourne) and, while it's a long way from the bay for those after-work sea breezes it does have the advantage of being on the end of the ring road making it a quick 1.5 hours to Torquay.
Anyone out that way interested in car shares when it looks good for a sail or kite at Pt Danger, 13th or where-ever? I've got a van so plenty of room for gear.
