Are there any good online shops, where you can buy cheap wave windsurf sails... ![]()
Because at my level, genearlly all brands of 4.5 and 4mtr sails feel the same, but since im a student, i dont have that much cash?? ![]()
Can you guys help me out?!?! ![]()
Cheers Steve
Loft and Gun come to mind. Their sails look okay. However I'd buy a second hand one as chances are a 4.5 has only been used a few times a year in most places in Eastern Australia.
Steve,
What size do you want and how much do you want to spend. In a month or so I'll be selling my 4.7, 4.2 and 3.7 Neil Pryde Combats which have each only been used 3 or 4 times (seriously...been using bigger sails this year thanks to the lack of wind). Will sell for $590 each which is almost 40% cheaper than buying them new and these will last for years as they are all x-ply and built tough.
Cheers,
Fletch
WindsurfingSales might do the trick (i'm a student too - I understand)

Bud will help you out, cheap Gun and Loft from just south of Syd ($400-500 new recent season ('07-'08) sails if your going for newies, if thats too much go for 2nd hand ones, in NSW they won't have been used much!)
Good postage prices too
I would also suggest a good brand in a second hand sail, there are a few online stores around the country which would be happy to courier them to you, east coast stores such as BoardCrazy in newcastle, Windsurf and Snow in sydney and there is Sunshine Coast Sailboards in QLD, i know these three would be doing good deals on used, and last seasons new sails to keep their cash flowing over the winter months and make room for next summers stock and all three stores would have different brands to choose from and as the other guys have said, the sails under 5.0m would not of had much use last summer.
Windsurfing Sales are great value check out the loft Lip wave and O2 sails there build quality is right up there. ![]()

No need for an online shop Steve, just go to the buy and sell section here and there's heaps around, my last two sails were seconds from here and were great value, and yet I'm a mere student of the wind (and have been for 25 years)
. New gear is nice and I'd say essential for things like mast and boom but the rest is better value with recent used stuff.
I think another brand to look at are ezzy's. Probably not as cheap as some of the other brands mentioned here, but they do got a good following and are usually about $200ish cheaper then some of the most popular brands AKA NP.
If you are willing to consider second hand gear, check with SHQ when the next swap meet is on (after checking buy and sell here); if you get there earlier enough you can always find a bargin.
