So Getting a new car and thought that I may as well register my sail number number as a custom plate rego for my car. (AUS-66)

Well low and behold I find out its unavailable!!!!

Who the hell has used my sail number for their rego????

Any cops here that can pm me the address of this person I would gladly have a word.

How would that work given that i am in Victoria - surely the numbers are unique for each state?

Gee, I wonder why anyone else would use 'AUS' on their number plates. What does it stand for?

Maybe the first 65 were taken?

Have you thought about asking VicRoads whats available first and then getting a new sail number? I would check the list first though.

you do realize that AUS stands for Australia, and not Australian windsurfer
there are other classes of watercraft out there whos owners are equally proud of thier achievements on water representing australia
i do know a landyacht owner with the sailnumber AUS 66 in WA , but if you let his tyres down, you might get a visit from him AND his mates
I believe he even has his yacht tattoo-ed on his swinging arm[}:)]

Or they are from Austria

Or it's their initials and they're born in 66

who knows.

who cares?

apart from the fact the plate is taken, have you through about how easy it would be for a crook to pin point your whereabouts while on the water, this ensuring they had enough time to rip you off with this??

Without the number match you are just another windsurfer...

I reckon it was AUS301 who took it. 66 plus his date of birth??
