Hope he doesn't take an early start and gets run over by the "starting line boat"

I just had a look at his titles, he should enjoy competing with the big guys...

good incentive not to be over I think
dunno who vanda is
I recon the start is going to be crazy 800+ sailors wow.
would be nice to get some time on the water before i go 3 weeks no wind here

anyone else been to the defi before.
any tips

Stick close to Dunkerbeck or Albeau and you should be able to place well... assuming you rig 5 sizes too big.

I too would recommend to stick to Albeau and Diethlem (he's already done it)

Advice from my mate Laurent who did it last year, stay close to the beach, avoid the helicopters () and grab a good wetsuit (being a tropical guy like us he finished 3rd but frozen)

According to him even if it blows, there are a few "no wind" areas so you're better off rigging big !!

Keep clear of the other 999 sailors and you should be right and just stay close to the top sailors at the start, good luck
If a chick comes up at the parties and asks if you would like a "léchouille"(think it'spelt right), she aint talking about a hair cut
