If anybody has made their own vacuum pump for board manufacture following the instructions on this webside and has wondered what's inside the compressor - well wonder no more!
I was using mine to suck water in a wave tank and I got water into it and it stopped working - doh! - hence making a nice mech eng science experiment.

I had wondered, but seeing as mine is still going strong I figured I probably didn't need to know yet.
Certainly looks like one of those 'no user servicable components inside' jobs..
^ My dad's a refrigeration mechanic. I doubt he's ever repaired a compressor during the last 40 years. Cut, unbolt, replace.
