HI all,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on making cam spacers to adapt a sail (Gaastra Gtx 2005) made for a SDM to use on a NoLimitz RDM?

I have been moving all my sails over to Ezzy's, but the Gasstra is the last sail i have hanging around for a SDM mast. Thought I might give making some spacers a go... if it doesn't work, it's no big deal I will buy a new sail to replace it.

Cheers Chris W

get some plastic tubing like the clear stuff and cut a piece about 5mm long then squeeze it flat and slip it over the end of the batten pocket. You might need to experiment with the lengths.

Just use some reinforced plastic tube - just big enough to go over the batten end. Cut some different lengths - remove cam add tube to batten end and replace cam. Play around with different lengths so that the slack is taken out of the luff sleeve. It is still important that the sail matches the flex curve of your rdm mast.

Thanks for the responses!

I will get down to the local hardware store tomorrow and get some tubing.
I might do some mucking about with this instead of watching the AFL grand final Mk2.

Cheers Chris
