Today at Sandringham, at the level of kiosk about 4p.m. three dolphins swimming literally between boards. Such a treat.

I had one break out from a group and visit me in my sailing dinghy once. It swam under the boat several times (I could feel its pressure wave moving the boat around), and came up behind me and put its nose right up against the trailing edge of my rudder. It then swam up along side popped its head out, rolled over a bit and looked me straight in the eye before taking off back to the group.

I had a pair swimming along under me at avalon (wa) on saturday. Cheeky buggers kept giving me a prod even though I was doing about 20kts.

Quite gay. Is this the wildlife forum? You should all consider the occupation involving many strings and being lifted into the air as opposed to jumping. I have spoken.

i saw those dudes once when i was windsuring off frankson. i thought i saw 3 sharks at first then they started jumping and i felt much safer after that and second time while waiting for the wind at kite beach, st kilda near the windurf section. they came up and said hi and jump through the air they seem to be allways in 3s, 3 good buddys i say. Next time the winds up at kite beach i am going to windsurf with my 3 friends.

There is a perma mini-pod of dophins at Mornington. Probably the same ones you saw at Frankston. If I am non-planing at least 300metres from the pier they normal come ride with me for a few mins. Usually just 3 to 5, sometimes with a baby.

Once I saw the dophins while powered up, few seconds later i hit something and saw guts spreading around the water and smelt a fishy smell. Almost threw up. I was freaking out! After stopping I found to my relief that my fin tore apart a large jellyfish and the smell was just a whiff from the pier. Phew!
