am stoked and real proud that our Filipino friend has won the RSX class..hard to believe when there is no program just privately donated sails and boards..et****hese guys don't even have boardbags and their fins are usually all packed in a thick plastic bag for transport between reggatttas here...yeahhh

Hmmmph...I didn't even know this was on.

Why would you have a regatta in Perth in May - the least windy month of the year?

Now I'm confused

Yep, the website says it's in December 2011, and it's on the ocean so being light and good and pumping probably won't be much help.

So what / when did the Filipino win?

Interesting to see how the 9.5 m sails will go in December, depends what time of the day the races are I suppose.

RSX Nationals were held in Fremantle in Feb this year. Afternoon races were windy (20 knots) and the medal race was gusting to 27 knots. 9.5s and 8.5s both handled it. Six aussie men and 2 women are doing the RSX worlds in Denmark in August in order to qualify for the IASF worlds in Fremantle next year. Hopefully we'll get a good contingent of Aus sailors racing in the event.
