Hi. I have been out og the sport for a while. Does anyone have an indication of what a F2 comet slalom 315 board would be worth and where would be the best place to advertise it would be. Regards, Dave.

AFAIK, the Comet is circa 1992.... In reality, it is very old - at best you might be able to give away. Modern boards are significantly different and much easier to sail, so your chances of finding someone to give it to, are slim to none.

From what I remember there where 2 comets, the comet slalom 315 came out in 93-94. Not a bad intermediate board in their day but is eclipsed by newer shapes- a friend had one way back when and they are not a longboard feel- i didnt mind it at the time at all. Still there are plenty of people that will snap it up.

Yes a short one, great sealing system. The one downside is they used US box fins, with a bolt through system they could have been better put to use as light wind board.

are you sure about the date 93/94 i remember makeing my daughter a race board, she would have been about 10 years old and now shes 33 that would make it 86 not that it matters,it was full carbon, flatter rocker with the windrush slideing mast track and the daggerboard set back futher than the comet and came in at about 10kg's ,that was light back in the old days, and those US boxes were made in 2 sections and used leak thats pre chinook ,so we used to beef them up with a carbon sandwitch

I could easily be wrong, lots of mind altering stuff over the years I'm pretty sure the one I know of/used was bought new in early '94. I didn't think it had a 2 piece finbox either (thank god someone saw the light there, I remember what a pain the factory boxes were in some Bics). Are you thinking of the Comet as it came out very early in F2 history and continued for a while.

the only US box you could get had the bottom glue'd or fused on and it used th develope a fracture and leak
