Hi Guys,
Some of you might have already heard about this windsurfing project that I've been working on in Europe for the past few weeks, but anyhow... tonight was the official launch of the website which you can check out at:
followthewinds.com/
The tagline for our project is "education by entertainment for youth and kids".
The concept behind the project is to introduce to the public (mainly youth/children) the amazing value of the Windsurfing Lifestyle. Top Formula Windsurfing riders Steve Allen, Arnon Dagan, Jesper Vesterstr?m, Ross Williams, Dennis Littel and Wojtek Brzozowski will go into the World Media to talk about the educational and inspiring side of their lives. Through our website and also our media activity this project aims to show the value of sport, intercultural learning and understanding as well as the cool and colorful lifestyles of the riders; lifestyles full of funny stories, beaches, sun, water, wind, traveling and meeting new and amazing people.
We believe a sport such as windsurfing can teach people about the meaning of international friendships, tolerance to other cultures, positive thinking and enthusiasm as well as about courage, hard work and the determination to chase your dreams. Through the next International Events, Formula Windsurfing is going to encourage youth and kids to look more closely at this sport and learn from this untypical and positive type of living.
The website was the first step, now begins our media campaign starting in Europe (and eventually the world). The project was created by myself and Kasia Morton.
Hope you guys like it, and feel free to post some comments on the site or get in contact with either of us in regards to it.
Cheers!
Interesting - by reading this I discover Steve Allan is in the Polish Version of "Dancing with the Stars" http://www.followthewinds.com/lifestyle/dancing-with-the-stars/
- maybe old news, but first i've heard of it.
What does that tell you about Windsurfing OZ - compared to Windsurfing Euro -as far as sport exposure and recognition . ![]()

Hope for your sake it does really well cause you deserve it.
Great job and good luck Sean.
@ Davmen - actually I don't think too many people around the windsurfing world anywhere knew Steve was doing this. It's quite cool though! and its a BIG deal for Steve. Dancing With the Stars is fairly popular here, its not really "the first series of BB popular", but my olds watched a few episodes...
In Poland, its like the League grand final, the whole country stops to watch it. Steve talks Polish with this brutal Aussie accent and horrendous grammar (my Polish friends tell me) so the public love him because he's quite quirky compared to the other contestants. I'm told on the first few episodes the judges scored him last but the public voting him on with the sms voting - so there's even a chance he could win the show if the public love him... haha. A long day before that will happen in Australia I think.
@ Upthere - cheers!! ![]()
Hey Sean - Brilliant idea. This is what Australia needs. If there is anything I can do in OZ from a photographer and journalist point of view, please let me know, happy to offer my services in anyway to help.
