First time ever my front foot stayed stuck in the strap after I muffed the exit to a gybe so I was lying in the water sort of in waterstart position but with my foot still stuck in the strap..
Does this mean the straps are too small/ too big etc? It only happened once but Ive never had it happen before..
The new board is B beautiful! ![]()

Goes like the clappers , easy to sail , carves beautifully..now if only I can manage to exit as well as I go in...
'Bout time we got a consistent ( reasonably) 20-25kts!![]()

As in size or position? I have them pretty big but I may have to check as some maybe bigger than others as Ive changed the sizes a bit.I wear booties..
Think I worked out what happened.Ive been watching a how to gybe video and was trying some of their tips so that why my stacks were different.I usually just sink the tail on exit when I stuff up but I was really trying to keep the rig forward & then it was too far forward when I caught it & it pulled me forward..![]()
Most of it is automatic for me now but I think I loosen my front foot on entry. During the turn my front foot is on my tippy toes which wouldn't happen if I was jammed in the footstraps hard. As you start to lean forward more on entry to load the rig you may find this happens anyway.
I have my straps adjusted so only my big toe is really poking out and so when I Gybe I can roll up the front foot up onto ball of foot.
the sort of releases foot from strap ready to step around.
So goes back to early answer. Have you adjusted your straps properly.
I like it when a booty strap (is that rude?) comes undone on the front foot and you take your back foot out from the strap during the gybe and then place it on the front foot's booty strap ...and then try to lift your front foot while you are standing on it.
I like big booty straps.
sboardcrazy - would it be your leaving your foot change too late? I know I'm guilty of this and often end up in the water with front foot still in the strap.
