Has anyone gone and done one of these? After windsurfing for longer that I care to admit my gybing still sux. I was thinking of going on one of the Cribbsters gybe training holidays (probably Greece), Does anyone know if they are worthwhile?
I'm hoping that making the big effort to go and do something like this will get me over the gybing hump at long last.

I've seen him run his clinics in Vass and Dahab.. very professional and looks like a lot of fun, he once had a billionaire client who was arriving in a power yacht full of jet skis, speed boats and windsurf gear.. Cribby even booked out the islands tennis courts on the off chance there was no wind.. and called me Rod Stewart for some reason.. does that help?
Is there a consensus that one of these training weeks would really sort your gybing out?
Hi all- I've been sent this link from one of my Aussie guests- good news- I'll be in WA in Jan 2011 for some courses. Loose plan will be two long weekend courses- one in Perth on gybes/ waterstarts and general skills, one in Geraldton for entry level wave sailing, a tune up/ speed sess immediately prior to the Lancellin ocean Classic AND a Surf Gods tour of your incredible coast for all the days in between.

For the record, the earlier post in this thread by Rod Stewart is basically correct, except it was a football stadium we rented, not a tennis court!

I would definitely go on a Guy Cribb course and will be asking Santa next Christmas! Mum also needs help with her gybes.
I watch Intuition all the time and have communicated with him via email. He has helped me loads with my sailing and I can't wait to sail with him and meet him in person. We are sooo lucky he's coming! There is no one more professional and better at diagnosing and correcting your sailing. Please hold a place for me Guy!

Sorry Alex, but as Longwinded hinted at, it doesn't make sense. To be in WA in January 2011, Guy Cribb would have to be flying via WA to get to South America, and he only has a 3 or 4 days to do it in!
Getting in before the LoC also means that he has missed it, or it is much later in the year.
Who knows, he could even come to NSW and try it without wind... 
What if i said I could bring Matt Pritchard out to run a clinic in NSW. Who would be interested?
I know he's not Guy Cribb - but then Guy isn't a 3 times PWA world champ either.
What were Matt Pritchard's clinics like in Queensland? Did he mainly run more advanced, intermediate or both clinics?
It had a great response, even though the conditions were very ordinary. Covered the basics, fight through to advanced - but believe it or not out of some 30 odd guys and girls some with 25 years plus experience and some with less than 1, no-one could step jibe!!!!!
He spent like 4 hours going through rigging - and helped everyone tune their rigs from sail tuning to board and fin and so-on - but we had a lot of slalom sailors and a few speed guys.
So all in all everyone got something out of it. the best part is that Matt go's with the flow so easily, that if people want to focus on one particular thing then he is happy to do that, or if one person is after a specific skill - he spends time with them to help them out.

I found Matt's style very nice, and liked the way he approached things.
The conditions were not great though, and I skipped out very early for that reason only. I just do not have the gear to sail in the conditions that prevailed, and the drive up for the second and third days was not viable for me.
I would strongly recommend attendance at his clinics though and DAM71's efforts to organise it were appreciated. I'm a big fan of lessons generally. You just get so much more return on effort.
It's good to see lessons and clinics making a comeback in Oz.
I'm in talks with Matt at the moment, and we are aiming to run 2 clinics this year. they will be most likely Qld and then either NSW or Vic. WA is a real long hop and we are stretched for time as it is - but i'm working on it.

the east get Matt Pritchard and the west gets Guy Cribb. That is a pretty good result for both sides.
Mate big call for someone that wasn't there!!! You know not one person thought that it was hell, and all found that part of the clinic particularly helpful, especially considering that it was mainly in small groups with every single person's gear that asked for help.
Are you implying that the clinic was boring and/or unhelpful? Or do you think that having a beer with Guy Cribb would help novice and intermediate sailors improve more-so than learning how to rig and tune their gear??
Like i said - he helped people where they needed it, and most people did not know how to rig or tune their gear, or had been doing it wrong for 20 years or more. You only have to read these forums to see where people need the help in progressing to the next level, and more than one wants help with tuning.
But hey horses for courses. If we run it - don't join in.
A tuning clinic would be a great part of a clinic and is a fallback if the weather is no good.
I don't know about anyone else, but my learning plateau has been pretty flat for the last decade or so. I'm sure a lesson from a guru like Guy or Matt would be great to start improving again. Count me in for a Vic session.
