Hi guys + gals,

I'm currently enjoying the awesome conditions in Augusta on holiday with the wife. The cunning plan has been foiled by the dearest breaking her spreader bar!

Please could anyone suggest the closest shop that maybe open tomorrow or if anyone has a Dakine spreader bar gathering dust in the garage near here please Private message me, handsome reward on offer (aka cash or a few beers), anything to save the 6 hr roundtrip back to Perth.

Any help much appreciated,

Rich

Ps - Have tried Simon (lessons in Margaret's)

If it's a Dakine spreader bar, find someone with a welder. I have two now that have been welded back together stronger than original.

I reckon you are outa luck with shops so Perth it is.

Unless (sorry to state the obvious) can you use a garden variety generic spreader that just has a slot in each end to thread the webbing thru (and forget whatever clippy clacky plug-in-the-end system the harness normally uses)?
If so, everyone in Margs will have a spare, surely

Just go anywhere there is a group of windsurfers, explain your problem and ask if anyone has a spare harness/spreader bar.
They'd be glad to help out I'm sure.
Most will be on holidays without internet access so you're better off just going up and asking them.
Margs would be your best option from Augusta.

Hi guys,

Awesome response, picked up a spreader bar this morning from a Marg's local.
Thanks to everybody who PM'd offering help.
